Located on the shores of Lake Texoma, Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club is one of Oklahoma’s hidden gems. Designed by Randy Heckenkemper, this par-72 championship layout stretches over 7,000 yards and offers expansive lake views, rolling topography, and a surprising level of challenge for such a tranquil setting. Opened in 1999, it’s consistently ranked among the state’s best public courses—and for good reason.
With zoysia fairways and bentgrass greens, the course is always in top condition. Strategic bunkering, elevation changes, and lake winds demand focus, especially on the signature 18th, which finishes with a sweeping fairway down toward the water. It’s a relaxing yet compelling round that feels more like a weekend getaway than a local muni.

I remember pulling into Chickasaw Pointe thinking it would be quiet and low-key. And it is—but the views and conditions blew me away. The afternoon light reflecting off Lake Texoma, the openness of the fairways contrasted with tight, tree-lined doglegs—it all added up to one of those “wow” moments that only happen when you’re off the beaten path. I could’ve shot that 18th hole for hours—every frame was different.
