Kananaskis Country Golf Course

Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada

In the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Kananaskis Country Golf Course offers a mountain golf experience that is nothing short of spectacular.

Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the 36-hole facility was lovingly restored after devastating floods in 2013, reopening to widespread acclaim.

The River and Mt. Kidd courses wind along rushing streams and beneath towering peaks, creating a dramatic and inspiring setting. The par-3 4th on Mt. Kidd, playing toward a wall of jagged mountains, is one of the most photographed holes in Canada.

Kananaskis is more than a golf destination — it’s a testament to resilience and the enduring beauty of the natural world.

Photographing Kananaskis was like stepping into a postcard. With mountains rising on every horizon and light constantly shifting, every hole felt alive. Standing behind my lens, I remember thinking: this is why people fall in love with mountain golf — it humbles you, inspires you, and stays with you forever. Oh, Canada!
