Twin Hills Country Club

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Twin Hills Golf & Country Club – Quiet Greatness in Oklahoma City
A timeless layout with deep roots in Oklahoma golf history, Twin Hills Golf & Country Club opened in 1923 and was designed by Perry Maxwell—one of the true legends of early American golf architecture. Located just east of downtown OKC, the course is known for its rolling terrain, subtly contoured greens, and challenging bunkering that has stood the test of time.
Twin Hills hosted the 1935 PGA Championship and continues to earn respect for its classic feel and strategic routing. Fairways weave through mature trees, and the elevation changes—especially on the back nine—create dramatic approach shots and scenic overlooks. It’s pure, golden-era golf in the heart of the city.
📸 Behind the Lens: Maxwell’s Mastery
I’ve photographed dozens of Perry Maxwell courses, but Twin Hills has a softness and flow that really stands out. There’s an ease to the way the holes move across the land, but don’t be fooled—this course demands respect. Morning shadows across the Maxwell bunkers created some of my favorite shots. It’s a course you feel as much as you see.

Each week, we share a stunning golf image and a heartfelt, hilarious, or inspiring story. While they may not always align, both aim to elevate the game and uplift those who love it. These images aren’t for sale—they’re simply here to be enjoyed, just as the stories are meant to inspire, entertain, and celebrate the spirit of golf.
