The par-3 14th hole is unforgettable, playing downhill toward the ocean with Molokini Crater in the distance. The course layout celebrates its Hawaiian setting, blending golf seamlessly into the island’s natural contours.

On assignment in Maui, I remember waiting for the moment when the afternoon light broke through the clouds and lit up the Pacific. The contrast of green fairways against the deep blue ocean and black lava created one of the most vivid scenes I’ve ever captured. Makena feels less like a course and more like a privilege to experience.
