Often called the best course in Texas, Dallas National Golf Club is a Tom Fazio masterpiece tucked into the rugged escarpments of southwest Dallas.
With no homes on the course and sweeping views of the city skyline in the distance, it feels both secluded and expansive. The course is defined by its bold bunkering, dramatic elevation changes, and pristine conditioning. Every hole feels like its own stage, but the par-5 14th, which tumbles downhill toward a green framed by native grasses, is especially memorable. For many.
Dallas National represents the pinnacle of private club golf — a sanctuary of pure golf in the heart of a bustling metropolis. Photographing Dallas National reminded me of how golf can transform a landscape. The contrast between the rugged Texas terrain and Fazio’s refined shaping is striking, and I loved the way morning light poured across the rolling fairways. It’s a course that quietly says, “This is golf at its highest level.”
I had a chance to revisit and tour this summer following a recent remodel of the course and it is incredible. Can’t wait to see the finished product and adjoining par three course.
